What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal Fillers (or soft tissue fillers) are a popular means of addressing deep wrinkles and folds in the skin that are common due to aging. Fillers have become one of the top non-surgical procedures done in the U.S due to the fact that they offer excellent, immediate results with no downtime and often little to no discomfort. It is becoming increasingly popular with older job-seekers who want to put their best (and younger-looking) face forward in today's tight job market.
What areas can be treated with Dermal Fillers?
Most commonly are the nasiolabial folds -- these are the lines or folds that appear between the nose and the mouth as we age. Marionette lines are also commonly treated -- these are the lines or folds that appear at the corner of the mouth and extend down to the chin area. Scars that have a depression can be filled out to leave a smoother texture. Fillers are also very popular in giving lips more volume and enhancing their natural appearance.
What is involved in a Dermal Filler treatment?
During your free consultation we will discuss the results you want to achieve so the most optimal filler can be prescribed. Before treatment begins, the area is numbed with a local anesthetic cream or dental block. Fillers are applied under the skin with a series of injections using an ultrafine needle – there is little to no discomfort at all. Treatment takes as few as 30 minutes and results are immediate. Many people go straight back to normal daily life afterwards. Mild bruising or redness may occur at injection sites but fades within a few days and may be covered with a makeup foundation.
Are Dermal Fillers safe?
Dermal fillers are safe. We offer the most advanced FDA-approved fillers available. Most fillers are made up of natural substances that are already found in the skin, so no pre-allergic testing is necessary.
How long will the results last?
That depends on the filler used and the area treated. We offer Restylane, Juvederm and Radiesse. Radiesse is by far our best-performing filler with results that last up to two years. Juvederm and Restylane give great results that last 6 to 12 months, gradually diminishing over time. Repeat treatments are needed to maintain the improvement. Artefill, a "permanent filler" is also available.
