What Is IPL Hair Removal?
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a full spectrum light which is delivered through a hand piece into the skin to target the pigmented hair follicle cells. As these unwanted cells are selectively destroyed, so is the hair associated with them, permanently!

Why should I choose this technique?
IPL is the latest technique for permanent hair removal, tested and proven to be very effective on most hair types. If you’ve tried electrolysis, you know that it targets only one hair follicle at a time, ending up being very time-intensive, costly and painful. Old laser hair removal systems— the standard up to now—always presented the possibility of burns, lesions and skin discolorations by overexposure or improper treatment. IPL offers a safe, quick, and relatively painless alternative that is proven to work!

How many treatments will I need?
Because hair grows in cycles, several treatments will be required to destroy all the hair follicles as they mature at different times. On average, 7 treatments will be necessary. The treatments are spread out over 4 to 6 weeks for facial hair; and 6 to 8 weeks for body hair.

Is there any guarantee?
After you complete the series of recommended treatments (usually 7), we will guarantee no hair regrowth in the treated area for two years from the date of your first treatment. If hair does regrow in the treated area during the guarantee period, come in and we'll take care of any additional hair growth at no charge.

Hormonal changes in the body, such as pregnancy, menopause and aging, may trigger dormant hair follicles to start growing, especially on the chin and upper lip. Again, our two year guarantee will have you covered.

Before treatment, what should I do?
Avoid sun exposure (especially without sunscreen!) for minimally 7 days before (and after) treatment. Discontinue any exfoliating skin care products 2 days before (and after) treatment, including Alpha and Beta hydroxy acids, Retin A, and chemical peels. No plucking, tweezing, waxing or electrolysis 6 weeks before treatments. Check with your physician regarding any medications you may be taking that make the skin photosensitive or photo-reactive. Shave the area to be treated the night before.

After treatment, what should I do?
Use aloe vera, witch hazel or our recommended products to soothe the skin after treatment. Avoid sun exposure (use SPF30 daily) as photosensitivity may be increased as a result of treatment.
